NEW YORK -- TAKKLE, Inc. (www.takkle.com), the premier online social network for high school sports, in partnership with Sports Illustrated, today announced the new SI-TAKKLE Top 100 High School Football Players rankings.
As thousands of high school football players across the country take the field every Friday night, TAKKLE and Sports Illustrated will be ranking the top 100 high school football players nationwide with a new rankings system, powered by Offense-Defense, a leading organizer of football camps and the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl. The new interactive rankings (www.takkle.com/rankings) will be updated every other week and will include extensive online video highlighting the biggest hits, catches, and the best high school football action from around the country.
And, for the first time, high school athletes and football fans will have a forum to speak out and vote on whether they think the athletes are under or overrated. Fans can check out videos, scouting reports, and profiles of the players and vote for their favorites.
"TAKKLE brings the passion of high school athletics online. With the launch of the new SI-TAKKLE Top 100 Football Rankings, we're giving athletes and fans a chance to check out the profiles and videos of the country's top players and use our interactive tools to make their opinions heard," said David Birnbaum, CEO and co-founder of TAKKLE. "In addition our detailed scouting reports and stats allow high school football fans to see how their local stars compare to other players across the country."
Accompanying the launch of the new SI-TAKKLE Top 100 High School Football Players rankings, TAKKLE is also launching a new weekly online video show. The show will examine the weekly Top 100 rankings - which players have moved up or down - and also feature video highlights of the best plays from around the country, and interviews with top high school players and coaches.
"High school football in America generates immense interest among players, families, fans, and alumni," said Jeff Price, President of SI Digital. "We think our new SI-TAKKLE Top 100 High School Football Players rankings will interest the many avid fans of Friday night high school football.
