Apogen Technologies Awarded IRS Intranet Contract Worth $1.7M

Company to Enhance Intranet Performance of the Office of Chief Counsel
MCLEAN, Va. -- Apogen Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of QinetiQ North America, today announced its Federal Solutions Group was awarded the Intranet Operations, Enhancement and Maintenance Support contract by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Under the terms of the contract, worth $1.7M, Apogen will work with the Counsel Information System Office (CISO) to operate, maintain and enhance the Office of Chief Counsel Intranet.

Apogen will be responsible for developing Web applications in the National Office utilizing Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) packages for Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server, Windows SharePoint Services, and Documentum as well as custom scripts through Web-based applications on the Chief Counsel Intranet. Apogen will also provide system usage training and rapid response to all technical problems reported by customers or CISO staff.
Apogen brings to this contract a wealth of experience in providing critical support for the IRS's IT systems, including technical infrastructure operations and maintenance, network engineering, disaster recovery efforts, help desk support, customer support and asset management.
The contract period is for one base year and three option years.
