Unisys-specific Terminal Emulator Launched at UNITE

PHILADELPHIA -- Today at UNITE (Unisys Information Technology Exchange), Attachmate Corporation announced the availability of Reflection([R])for the Web, Unisys Edition. Reflection for the Web, Unisys Edition is terminal emulation software that securely connects browser users to applications running on Unisys, IBM, HP, UNIX and OpenVMS hosts. Offering strong authentication and encryption capabilities, Reflection for the Web, Unisys Edition allows for the safe delivery of full-functioning host applications across the public Internet.

"Attachmate has been a Unisys partner for more than 10 years and has shown dedication and commitment to the Unisys platform," said Bill Maclean, vice president and general manager, ClearPath and AB Suite, Systems and Technology at Unisys. "The release of Reflection for the Web, Unisys Edition confirms that Attachmate remains focused on the needs most important to the Unisys community."

Reflection for the Web, Unisys Edition: Security Focus

Reflection for the Web, Unisys Edition offers users a rich set of multiple security features. In addition to strong authentication and encryption capabilities, it includes a Security Proxy Server with Secure Token Authorization. This unique, patent-pending feature provides an extra layer of protection for connections to legacy host applications, allowing the integration of hosts into modern security infrastructures.

Attachmate customer Companhia de Saneamento Basico do Estado de Sao Paulo (SABESP), the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil's basic sanitation company and one of the world's largest water and sewage service providers, has already realized the security benefits of Reflection for the Web software's secure encryption and authentication technology.

"Reflection for the Web provides us with the client-side encryption and authentication technology we need to securely connect our end users to our Unisys applications via the Web, ensuring the integrity of our mission-critical data," said Luis Eduardo Zuffo, TI systems engineer, SABESP. "And, because we didn't have to physically install the client components on each terminal, we were able to implement the solution in a very short time, saving us considerable time and money."

With the launch of Reflection for the Web, Unisys Edition users will:

* Meet regulatory requirements, such as Payment Card Industry (PCI), Sarbanes-Oxley, Gramm-Leach-Bliley, FIPS, HIPAA and European Data Directive.

* Authenticate users via Directory Services, X.509 smart cards, Kerberos, and CA Siteminder.

* Provide standards-based security for business applications and file transfers.

* Support existing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), including X.509 certificates, Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP), and Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL).

* Provide secure access via all major Web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, Mozilla Firefox and Safari.

* Simplify legacy host application sign-on for easy user access and password management.

* Integrate host applications with IBM, BEA and CA SiteMinder portals.
