vReplicator 2.1 Offers Improved Failover Testing, Reporting and Replication Speeds

CHICAGO -- Vizioncore Inc., the market leader in management tools for virtual infrastructure environments, today announced the general availability of vReplicator 2.1, its replication tool for virtual environments. The latest version of vReplicator now features a more simplified disaster recovery process, easier failover testing, and improved replication speeds.

With vReplicator, the entire VM can be replicated from many hosts to a single host and between different hardware platforms. Replication is performed on a per VM basis at the storage block level, which allows customers to replicate changes to the VM, including the level of allocated hardware resources, guest operating system, applications and data.

vReplicator 2.1 offers a number of key enhancements:

Failover: GUI-based assistance helps users perform failover and failback in the event of a disaster. The simplified process ensures replicated VMs can quickly be brought online following any interruption.

Failover Testing: Allows the target machine to be isolated from the network and powered on for testing, ensuring the integrity of replication jobs. Once testing is complete, the machine shuts down and reverts to a pre-test state, allowing replication to continue.

Speed improvements: A new method for comparing source and target VMs prior to replication allows vReplicator to achieve significant speed improvements for replication jobs. Organizations can increase the regularity with which they replicate key VMs, ensuring that recoverable data is even more up to date.

Reporting: An enhanced database structure and new reporting engine offer real-time representations and fully configurable historical reports.

Improved Scheduling: Fixed interval scheduling allows for predictable, repeatable replication so that customers can plan replication around production hours.

"Vizioncore is at the forefront of developing technology to make virtual infrastructures more robust and manageable, and this latest version of our vReplicator product builds on the core technology found in previous releases to deliver an even greater level of functionality for our customers," said David Bieneman, CEO of Vizioncore. "For organizations looking to implement effective disaster recovery strategies for key virtual machines, vReplicator 2.1 offers an intuitive, robust and cost effective replication tool which has been designed from the ground-up for virtual environments."

"The failover testing and fixed scheduling are features in vReplicator 2.1 which are critical enhancements for my organization's usage of this superior tool from Vizioncore," stated Michael Trew, Ofcom Server Team.
