Shop.org Elects Bazaarvoice CEO Brett Hurt to Board of Directors

Hurt Brings Expertise in Word of Mouth Marketing and Social Commerce to Leading Association for Retailers Online
AUSTIN, Texas -- Bazaarvoice, the market and technology leader in hosted social commerce applications that drive sales, today announced that founder and CEO Brett Hurt has been elected to the Board of Directors of Shop.org, the leading association for retailers online. Shop.org is the online division of the National Retail Federation (NRF) and counts over 600 members, including the 10 largest retailers in the U.S. and 70% of the Internet Retailer Top 100 E-Retailers.
Hurt was among four new executives recently appointed to the Shop.org Board of Directors. As a newly elected Board member, Hurt will represent the needs of the Shop.org membership, provide strategic and financial advice on the mission, vision and operation of Shop.org, and contribute to Shop.org's authority in the industry. All Board members are elected by current Shop.org members and serve a two-year term.

Hurt brings over a decade of deep operational experience in the eCommerce industry to the Shop.org board. As the founder and former CEO of Coremetrics, Hurt started Bazaarvoice in 2005 and has grown the company into the leading provider of consumer ratings and reviews. In July, Bazaarvoice served 500 million consumer-generated product reviews to online shoppers at over 120 sites, including Dell.com, QVC.com, PETCO.com, Macy's.com, Overstock.com, and Sears.com.
