Frost & Sullivan Recognizes MangoDSP's Innovative Strategies in the Encoder and Video Server-Based Solutions Market
Business Wire, Sept 11, 2007
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Based on its recent analysis of the encoder and video server market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes MangoDSP with the 2007 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for Entrepreneurial Company of the Year.
Through cutting-edge technology and strategic partnerships, MangoDSP has created a niche for itself, achieving combined competence in video surveillance and physical security.
MangoDSP's ability to clearly identify partnerships to help incorporate the best technology in its products has helped it provide cutting-edge technological solutions to the end user. Its unique marketing strategy also facilitates the quick adoption of its solutions.
"As an emerging company in the market, MangoDSP understands that the key to success is ensuring partnerships that can help increase its customer base," says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Giridhar Athmanathan. "One such effort is the three-way partnership between MangoDSP, Micron Systems Inc., and Texas Instruments Inc. (TI) that helped produce Pegasus."
The 2007 introduction of Pegasus, an advanced version of the Mango Raven family of video network server solutions introduced in 2004, is aimed at increasing the company's penetration into vertical markets, such as retail, gaming, mobile communication and transportation.
A single-channel video server product, Pegasus' key features are its ability to host advanced analytics and a rugged design which helps it operate in harsh environments along with producing high-quality video images.
While the partnership with TI ensures that MangoDSP has access to superior and the latest processors in encoders/video servers, its relationship with Micron allows the company to have a vast selection of sensors, which provides it the ability to customize designs. Furthermore, MangoDSP sources its hardware from industry-leading original equipment manufacturers such as TI and W&W Communications, Inc.
MangoDSP's patent-pending intelligent video software (IVS) with its open API provides the software platform on which third-party analytics providers can run their video analytics software. The company has partnered with Cisco Systems, Inc. in mobile transportation and communication and car video-based applications and as a result, its products were a part of Cisco's wireless mobile surveillance solutions in Cook County, Illinois. The MangoDSP Raven-HX PC104 card is a key component of the Cisco 3200 Mobile Video Communication Solution. MangoDSP has also partnered with BroadWare Technologies, Inc. to design mobile DVR streaming solutions and worked with iRobot Corporation and Vigilant Video, Inc., to design cutting-edge technology solutions.
Overall, MangoDSP's revenues generated from the encoder and video server-based solutions market is expected to continue growing at a rate of over 50% per year over the next 5 years; the addition of the Pegasus family is expected to further enhance this growth.
In recognition of its ongoing commitment to excellence in technology and growth strategy, Frost & Sullivan sees MangoDSP as a worthy recipient of the 2007 Entrepreneurial Company of the Year Award in the North American encoder and video server markets.
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated superior entrepreneurial ability in its industry during the research period.
The award signifies the company's identification of a unique and revolutionary product solution with significant market potential. Additionally, the award certifies that the company's marketing strategy is effective and poised for success.
