Corda Technologies' Dashboard Technologist to Present Graphics Research Paper at Conference in Germany
Business Wire, Sept 12, 2007
The Paper, Titled "Poisson Disk Point Sets by Hierarchical Dart Throwing," Will Be Presented at the Symposium on Interactive Ray Tracing 2007 in Ulm, Germany
SALT LAKE CITY -- Kenric B. White, an expert Dashboard Technologist at Corda Technologies, will be presenting a graphics research paper at the Symposium on Interactive Ray Tracing 2007 on September 12, 2007. The paper, titled "Poisson Disk Point Sets by Hierarchical Dart Throwing," was co-authored by Mr. White, David Cline of Brigham Young University and Arizona State University, and Parris Egbert of Brigham Young University. The paper presents a novel way to create Poisson disk point sets. A Poisson disk point set is a sampling method that produces a well-distributed, uniform sample. Current methods used are very time consuming. There have been some new methods published recently that speed the process, but are complicated. The new method proposed by Messrs. White, Cline and Egbert is not only up to 271 times faster than the latest, state-of-the-art methods, but is significantly simpler as well.
"We're very excited for and proud of Kenric," said John Purvis, CEO and president of Corda Technologies. "He exemplifies the deep expertise in graphics, data visualization and performance management dashboards resident within Corda's research and development team.
The Symposium on Interactive Ray Tracing 2007 presents the latest research in the field. Ray tracing has become a strong area of focus and research as interest in realistic rendering, graphics and simulation grows. The symposium will be held at Ulm University in Ulm, Germany September 10-12, 2007. The conference proceedings will be published by IEEE VGTC. More information on the conference can be found at: http://www.uni-ulm.de/rt07/RT07.html.
> "Kenric is a valuable member of our development team," said Mardell Cheney, CTO of Corda. "As we continue to lead the fields of data visualization and performance dashboards, it's especially gratifying in having team members like Kenric that add such deep expertise and knowledge for Corda."Kenric White joined Corda Technologies in early 2006. He holds a bachelor of science degree in Computer Science from Brigham Young University, in Provo, Utah.
