National Association of REALTORS® to Use Convio for Innovative Online PAC Fundraising and Member Relationship Management

Convio Partners with Aristotle and American Strategies Inc. to Provide Integrated Online Fundraising and Compliance Applications, Increasing Effectiveness in Member Outreach and Advocacy
AUSTIN, Texas -- The National Association of REALTORS[R] (NAR) and Convio, Inc. announced today the expansion of their relationship and the delivery of enhanced online capabilities that help transform how PACs raise money online. Through an extension of their contract with Convio, and the company's new partnership with Aristotle and American Strategies Inc., the country's largest professional trade association will be the first to use an integrated set of online fundraising and compliance applications to increase its efficiency and effectiveness in mobilizing, soliciting, tracking, and reporting on outreach to members and stakeholders.
Associations have not typically used the Internet to collect money for their Political Action Committees, partly because of strict regulations and Federal Election Commission (FEC) compliance standards regarding collection and distribution of political action committee (PAC) monies to candidates and elected officials. The integration of Convio's online engagement tools and Aristotle's web-based PAC management system, Aristotle 360, allows NAR to solicit online PAC contributions while complying with federal laws.
"NAR has achieved tremendous results using Convio to mobilize our member community around public policy initiatives that support a fundamentally sound and dynamic U.S. real estate market," said Walt Witek, Vice President of Government Affairs at NAR. "By working in partnership with Convio, Aristotle and American Strategies, Inc., we were able to leverage Convio's technology platform to bring together expertise and technology to develop and implement sophisticated, integrated online PAC fundraising and compliance capabilities."
In 2006, NAR launched its Broker Grassroots Involvement Program and NAR Action Center, combining Convio's grassroots advocacy and messaging solutions and innovative grassroots techniques to increase national participation rates by over four times and boost the overall REALTOR impact on Congress. In just 10 months of launching the program and Action Center, member participation rates were the highest in NAR history - up to 60% for individual participating brokers. NAR average broker program member participation rates are now double the current national average, and are 10 times the participation rates from 2005, with the number of participating brokers continuing to grow.
NAR will be using Convio's fundraising and events to collect money online for their PAC, which was the top PAC contributor to federal candidates in 2005-2006, contributing nearly $4 million to candidates and elected officials.
"Our partnership with Aristotle and American Strategies Inc. enables us to offer NAR an innovative technical solution for online grassroots mobilization and PAC management, filing, and consulting," said Gene Austin, Chief Executive Officer of Convio. "We are proud that our growing partner program is able to bring together innovative people and technologies to deliver interoperable online solutions that support our clients' success."
Added John Phillips, Chief Executive Officer of Aristotle, "We align ourselves with technology leaders who, like us, are helping drive results for clients and prospects. Our clients have spoken highly of Convio's team and its products, and our due diligence confirmed their impressions. In our new partnership with Convio, we look forward to helping NAR raise and exceed their advocacy goals and embrace the Internet as a way to take constituent and legislative relationships to new levels."
