Barracuda Networks Hits 50,000 Customer Milestone and Receives Array of Industry Accolades
Business Wire, Sept 17, 2007
CAMPBELL, Calif. -- Barracuda Networks, Inc., the worldwide leader in email and Web security appliances, today announced it has reached the significant milestone of 50,000 customers spanning more than 80 countries - in less than five years. Preceding this latest milestone, Barracuda Networks has achieved a steady stream of company and product accolades in 2007.
"We typically mark a significant increase in customer base at the beginning of each year, however, this latest milestone of 50,000 customers worldwide came sooner than anticipated," said Dean Drako, president and CEO of Barracuda Networks. "This latest set of achievements underscores Barracuda Networks' ability to deliver powerful and comprehensive solutions, addressing today's most critical network issues at an affordable price point for organizations of all sizes."
In recognition of entrepreneurial spirit and success in building a leading business, Barracuda Networks' founders, Dean Drako, Zach Levow and Michael Perone, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year([R]) 2007 Award in the Networking and Communications category for Northern California in July. In addition, Barracuda Networks was honored this past April as one of the top 50 medium-sized "Best Places to Work in the Bay Area" by the San Jose/Silicon Valley Business Journal, the San Francisco Business Times and the East Bay Business Times.
During the course of 2007, Barracuda Networks has been recognized with an array of product and company recognitions. A few examples of this year's accolades include:
* January 2007 - Barracuda Networks received the "Gold Award" in the Exchange Server Security category by SearchExchange.com. The Barracuda Spam Firewall 900 earned high marks for ease of integration, ease of use, functionality and support - and a perfect score for performance.
* June 2007 - In CRN Tech's Deep Dive into spyware detection and removal, the Barracuda Web Filter received a "Recommended" rating from the CRN Test Center. CRN magazine noted: "Despite being heavy on the features, (Barracuda) Web Filter 310 remains easy to use and fully customizable."
* August 2007 - Fuji Chimera Research Institute, Inc., a market research firm based in Tokyo, ranked Barracuda Networks as the market leader in email security solutions in Japan. Most notably, the report marks Barracuda Networks as No. 1 in units shipped and in overall revenue.
