Global provider of completion services places order for 30 units
TAMPA, Fla. -- OuterLink Corporation, a mobile asset management solutions provider, is pleased to announce that Metro Aviation, Inc. has placed an initial order for 30 OuterLink Voice & Video Recorder (O.V.V.R.) kits for installation in its operational fleet of helicopters and airplanes. The O.V.V.R. is an option that extends the capabilities of the OuterLink CP-3i mobile asset management platform by adding voice and video recording functionality without adding a noticeable amount of weight to the aircraft. The O.V.V.R. is designed using the FAA Part 135 and NTSB criteria as a guide to system form, function, and survivability.
"Metro Aviation has taken progressive steps to implement a safety program that exceeds current industry standards and FAA requirements," said Milton K. Geltz, general manager of Metro Aviation, Inc. "We currently have OuterLink satellite mobile asset tracking solutions deployed throughout our fleet. Extending the capabilities of our installed platform with an upgrade that adds voice messaging, and voice and video recording functionality is a cost effective way to increase safety throughout our fleet operations and is a readiness measure in anticipation of pending FAA mandates for flight data capture and recording."
The initial product design phase for the O.V.V.R. is complete with prototype development underway. The Metro Aviation fleet will be one of several fleets that will test and evaluate the O.V.V.R. before it goes in to full production. OuterLink expects to begin deliveries in early 2008.
The OuterLink Voice and Video Recorder is on display this week in the OuterLink booth (#601) at AMTC in Tampa, FL, September 17-19, 2007.
We are delighted to debut the O.V.V.R. with Metro Aviation at AMTC this week. Milton and his team continue to be innovators in their use of technology in ways that enhance the safety and effectiveness of their operations," said Andrew Joseph, CEO of OuterLink Corporation. "The O.V.V.R. is another proof point of our commitment to leverage the capabilities of the OuterLink CP-3i platform and the latest demonstration of our steadfast commitment to innovation. We remain focused on delivering solutions to the market that enhance safety and operational effectiveness."
