Nation's Third Largest YMCA Selects The Active Network as Operations Management Software Provider
Business Wire, Sept 18, 2007
The Active Network Provides Centralized Operating System for All 38 Houston YMCA Centers
SAN DIEGO -- The YMCA of the Greater Houston Area, located in Houston, TX, has selected The Active Network, Inc. (Active), a company that delivers software technology and marketing solutions for community service organizations (http://www.activenetwork.com), to provide operations management software and hosted technology to its centers. The organization will use Active's operations management software to improve daily operation efficiency, customer service and reduce operating costs.
The YMCA of the Greater Houston Area serves more than 800,000 participants through its 38 centers and 300 program locations in seven counties. Active's integrated software will provide all 38 Houston centers a common technology platform to easily exchange data, track membership activity, administer financial reports and provide management greater visibility and insight over the region's operations. The YMCA centers will also have the ability to manage functions such as program and activity registration, child care scheduling, facility reservations, league/tournament scheduling, and donations for fundraising events.
"Our objective was to replace our various operating software programs with a central system that could provide greater functionality, reliability and consistency for all of our centers," said Darwin Barnett, group executive director, YMCA of the Greater Houston Area. "Active's operating solution provides all these functions while enabling an organization of our size to lower operating costs and run more efficiently."
"Active's long standing relationship with the YMCAs of North America has allowed us the opportunity to tailor our software solutions to fit the specific needs of their centers," said Alex Barnetson, senior vice president, The Active Network, Inc. "Working with the YMCA of the Greater Houston Area demonstrates our continued commitment to providing the best cost-effective solutions for improved operations and customer service to the non-profit market."
Active has been providing YMCAs and other non-profit organizations throughout North America and Canada marketing and software solutions since 2001. Recently, YMCA organizations in Sarasota, FL, Madison, NJ, and Raritan Bay, NJ, joined Houston, TX, in choosing Active as their operations management software provider.
