VLSI-SoC 2007 to Explore State-of-the-Art Chip Technology With Three Keynotes, 16 Sessions, One Panel Discussion
Business Wire, Sept 19, 2007
Co-Sponsored IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA) Event Kicks Off October 15 in Atlanta
NEW YORK -- The Fifteenth IFIP/IEEE Conference on VLSI-SoC, co-sponsored by the IEEE Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA) and the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), will be held October 15-17 at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
The event, which includes 16 sessions and a panel discussion debating system-in-package versus system-on-chip, will explore state-of-the-art technology and recent developments in Very Large Scale Integrated System (VLSI) and System on Chip (SoC) design. It is meant for logic, circuit and analog designers, mixed-signal and digital signal processing (DSP) engineers, physical designers, CAD developers, technical managers and academic researchers.
Keynotes are Serge Leef, general manager of Mentor Graphics' System-Level Engineering Division, James D. Meindl, Joseph M. Pettit Chair professor of Microelectronics at Georgia Institute of Technology, and Gene Frantz, principal fellow for DSP Systems at Texas Instruments.

The Council on Electronic Design Automation (CEDA) is IEEE's focal point for multiple EDA disciplines. Its goal is to bring increased value to IEEE members by coordinating EDA activities, enabling new initiatives, fostering interdisciplinary research and recruiting young talent to EDA. It also will increase visibility for IEEE-sponsored EDA events such as the Design Automation Conference (DAC) and International Conference on Computer Aided Design (ICCAD) and its technical publications. Its charter spans theory, implementation and use of computer aided design (CAD) tools to design integrated electronic circuits and systems. Its website is located at: http://www.ieee-ceda.org.
