Business Wire, Sept 24, 2007
Interactive Software Helps Students Master Advanced Statistical Concepts
CARY, N.C. -- SAS, the leader in business intelligence, today announced an agreement with McGraw-Hill Higher Education to bundle a fully functional version of JMP software with textbooks used in advanced and applied statistics courses. Students purchasing the bundles receive a 12-month license to the same edition of JMP interactive statistical software used by corporations worldwide and available on thousands of university department and campus servers.
Faculty adopting Applied Linear Regression Models or Applied Linear Statistical Models texts by Michael H. Kutner, Christopher J. Nachtsheim, John Neter and William Li for courses may select editions that are bundled with JMP. "These titles are leading authoritative texts and references for students in most any discipline using statistical analysis or interpretation," said Dick Hercher, Executive Editor for Operations and Decision Sciences at McGraw-Hill/Irwin. "All topics are presented precisely, clearly and with solid examples drawn from virtually all disciplines; plus, these authors have expertly incorporated the use of software to enhance learning."
JMP's intuitive interface and advanced statistics support the applied real-world approach of modern courses. Context-sensitive help, online documentation, tutorials, sample data files and tutorials reinforce learning. Graphics, including 3-D and motion-enabled, are integrated with statistics to display immediately in one window.
The textbook/software bundles are available exclusively through campus bookstores. The software runs on Windows, Macintosh or Linux platforms. For details about ordering for your campus, see McGraw-Hill Higher Education at www.mhhe.com. For more information about JMP software, see www.jmp.com.
