Ultimus Announces the Appointment of Christopher Heivly as Executive Vice President

CARY, N.C. -- Ultimus, the #1 provider of Business Process Management (BPM) and workflow software and solutions, with more than 1,600 customers worldwide, today announced the appointment of Christopher Heivly as Executive Vice President, effective immediately. In this newly created position, Mr. Heivly will be responsible for the strategic direction of North American Sales, Professional Services and Training, as well as Global Marketing, Product Management, and Support for Ultimus.
Mr. Heivly is an accomplished executive in the information technology sector with proven experience in marketing, sales, business development, investment finance and operations. His 25 year career spans a broad range of executive positions in the public sector, large enterprises and entrepreneurial groups. He has operated at the highest levels, formulating company strategies and launching new business units.

Before joining Ultimus, Mr. Heivly spent three years as chairman, CEO, and president of Agular Systems, an early-stage document management software and services company. Under his leadership, Agular re-launched and tripled its revenues and established key partnerships in two fast-growth market areas. He also re-aligned corporate strategy, sharpened the company's sales focus, and launched a new product platform that yielded 25% decreases in solutions implementation time.
Prior to Agular, Mr Heivly served as Senior Vice President of Rand McNally Company and President of randmcnally.com, a wholly-owned subsidiary. Operating as a change agent for this 120-year-old firm, Mr. Heivly placed Rand McNally firmly in the 21st century with an updated and dynamic print and digital vision.
He joined randmcnally.com in 1999 from Andersen Consulting (Accenture), where he was the global director of new media, responsible for managing the company's global new media marketing initiatives including the Andersen Consulting Web site. He also served as Vice President and General Manager of 77 Capital Corporation, a venture capital subsidiary managing more than $75 million in invested assets. Mr. Heivly was also one of the founders of MapQuest serving multiple roles including a board member prior to its acquisition.
