Gafke to Focus on Accelerating SteelEye's Growth Through Expanded Offerings and Additional Sales Channels
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- The leading provider of data replication and application monitoring solutions for business continuity and disaster recovery on Linux and Windows, SteelEye Technology today named Garrett V. Gafke as President and Chief Operating Officer. Gafke brings to SteelEye a breadth of experience in executive leadership roles at technology companies, including both early stage start-ups as well as global public enterprises.
Gafke will focus on accelerating SteelEye's growth through a combination of an expansion of the company's product offerings and a higher prioritization on enlarging the company's channel partner program. Tomofumi "Tommy" Gotsubo will remain as the company's CEO, working closely with Gafke to assure execution of the company's strategy.
"Garrett's diverse experience with both emerging Silicon Valley entities and the world's largest corporations provides him with a unique vantage point - he understands the challenges that are presented by a marketplace in which growth and innovation must occur simultaneously," said Gotsubo. "His understanding of the needs of customers and prospects at companies of all sizes as well as the best tactics for reaching them will be instrumental to success in the next phase of SteelEye's growth."
Gafke joins SteelEye from SeeControl, Inc., an on-demand provider of inventory control and logistics achieved through barcode and RFID technologies. As President and CEO of the company, he helped raise over $5.5M in private equity while also helming sales efforts, expanding the customer base to 22 countries while signing blue-chip Fortune 500 brands. He was also instrumental in guiding SeeControl's transition following a management buyout from Cardinal Health Company. At Cardinal Health prior to the buyout, Gafke led the $87 billion Fortune 20 Company's Clinical Technologies and Services Group. Prior to Cardinal, Gafke has held Vice President and senior executive roles with Hewlett Packard, VeriFone, CyberSource, Xuma, and Trintech where he has been responsible for two initial public offerings and three acquisitions. Gafke also serves on the board of directors for VUE Technologies, Infiniti Partners, Nimbus Corporation and The VPS Companies, Inc.
"SteelEye is a company with superior technology, an incredible customer base and tremendous growth potential," said Gafke. "I'm looking forward to adding an emphasis on expanding our customers, channels, and offerings in order to execute on that potential."
