New SYSPRO Factory Scheduling Software Options Advance Lean Manufacturing Practices
Business Wire, Sept 25, 2007
CHICAGO -- SYSPRO, a leading producer of enterprise software, has today announced the addition of new scheduling options to the SYSPRO Factory Scheduling Software solution. These options, which range from fairly basic planning board type scheduling to the optimal in advanced scheduling solutions, help factory managers advance Lean manufacturing practices.
SYSPRO Factory Scheduling has three product offerings, which include the SYSPRO Graphical Planning Board, SYSPRO Finite Scheduler and the SYSPRO Advanced Scheduler, allowing companies to choose the level of sophistication required.
The SYSPRO Graphical Planning Board is a basic finite capacity scheduler with limited rules and features for automatic scheduling. The schedule can be manually manipulated using the graphical Gantt chart view.
The SYSPRO Finite Scheduler contains more sophisticated features to schedule a factory. Multiple constraints per operation can now be considered, including machine, tools and labor, as well as numerous other variables. In addition, managers are now able to more accurately schedule the factory using features such as transfer batches, sequence dependent setup times, preferred resource selections, maximum operation spans and maximum delay between operations as well as other variables.
The SYSPRO Advanced Scheduler enables high quality scheduling through the use of advanced scheduling rules and the availability of components and raw materials. Factory managers are now able to define their own complex scheduling rules using filters, a combination of standard and/or user defined advanced rules and user defined scripts as well as other standards. Jobs on different BOM levels and stock on hand can now be pegged based on definable rules, thereby ensuring a feasible schedule.
