The Culinary Institute of America Selects Eatec's Back-Office Software
Business Wire, Sept 25, 2007
EMERYVILLE, Calif. -- The Culinary Institute of America, the world's premier culinary college, has selected Eatec Corporation's back-office software, EatecNetX, for management of its culinary instruction kitchens and public restaurants at its Hyde Park campus.
EatecNetX will be utilized for inventory and production management in 41 instruction kitchens and bakeshops, as well as their five public restaurants. Based on class menus, EatecNetX will generate shopping lists, which instructors will easily turn into requisitions to the central storeroom. Purchasing requirements, based on combined instruction plans and restaurant forecasts, will be calculated by EatecNetX, converted to purchase orders, and issued to suppliers. Central storeroom personnel will receive inventory within EatecNetX, then transfer items to the culinary kitchens and restaurants. The software will also be incorporated into the curriculum, to introduce students to back-of-the-house technology vital to operating profitable food and beverage operations.
"EatecNetX will provide us with the technology we need to streamline our expanding inventories and operations. In addition, it will give us a way to track actual class costs against what has been budgeted," stated Len Berg, director of education services.
