LTU Technologies to Discuss Image Search and Recognition at Forensic Association of Computer Technologists 2007 Fall Training Conference
Business Wire, Sept 26, 2007
WASHINGTON & PEWAUKEE, Wis. -- LTU Technologies, the global leader in image search and recognition solutions, announced today its participation at the Wisconsin Association of Computer Crime Investigators (WACCI) & Forensic Association of Computer Technologists (FACT) 2007 Fall Training Conference.
Located 20 miles west of Milwaukee, at the Waukesha County Technical College in Pewaukee, WI, P. Kevin Smith, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales & Marketing for LTU will be presenting on Thursday, September 27 at 8am in Room 3 about image-based search and recognition technology. The session is titled, 'Pixel Analysis beyond Hash Sets'.
LTU provides forensic-quality tools needed to quickly navigate and manage visual content, such as images and video, for investigation, intelligence gathering, intellectual property protection and liability/risk management. LTU's core technology indexes the pixels of an image to create a digital signature or "image DNA" that describes the key visual features of each image. This approach has proven to be more effective than the use of keyword tags and binary file identifiers alone.
WACCI is a growing group of law enforcement and private sector professionals that have joined together to exchange information regarding computer crimes.
FACT is a not-for-profit association for the purpose of training law enforcement in the scientific techniques of examining computers. The association holds annual training conferences that provide introductory and advanced instruction in the areas of computer forensics. FACT is made up primarily of law enforcement personnel from federal, state, and local agencies from around the United States.
"Since the very beginning, LTU Technologies goal has been to provide the very best and most innovative computer forensics tools for law enforcement. While we also provide the technology to many other industries, we believe its very important to continue to reach out and educate government agencies to the benefits of image-based search and recognition technology," said Smith. "This event is a perfect opportunity to discuss the new developments we've seen in the market as well as how the technology can be implemented to enable investigators to find evidence and solve investigations more quickly and accurately than ever before."
