TechWing Won the Civil Lawsuit Against Mirae Corporation
Business Wire, Sept 4, 2007
SEOUL, South Korea -- TechWing Inc., a specialized memory test handler company in Korea, today announced that it won the civil lawsuit filed by Mirae Corporation (KSE:025560) (NASDAQ:MRAE) in 2004 for prohibition of patent infringement & compensation for damage.
Suwon District Court, South Korea, has eventually dismissed this lawsuit involving Mirae's 5 patents because all patents are already invalidated or not related to Techwing products.
According to TechWing party concerned, the ruling of the Suwon District Court was expected because Korean Patent Court and Supreme Court judged that most of the patents were invalidated or were not read on Techwing Products earlier.
Jae Shim, TechWing CEO said that, "Mirae Corporation, which was established in 1983 & had been envious company to other venture companies, should have forced to invest more resources for fair technology competition rather than strategically disturbing or intentionally obstructing TechWing's rapid growth with patent lawsuits, a venture company just established in 2002. But this ruling has proved again that TechWing has the differentiated & advanced technologies. And the company will try to develop the world best quality of Memory test handlers and contribute to localization of semiconductor equipments in Korea."
On the other hand, TechWing filed other civil lawsuit against Mirae Corporation because Mirae's handlers have been found out to use Techwing's patent technology which is the core technology of memory test handler, Temperature Control Technology.
