Xerox Business Consulting Services, Assessment Tool Help Print Providers Maximize Their Digital Investment
Business Wire, Sept 4, 2007
"After spending time with the Xerox business development consultants, our sales team is much more informed and confident"
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) today launched business development services that bring its digital printing expertise directly into a customer's operation and introduced a new financial modeling tool that helps print providers increase productivity and achieve cost and efficiency savings.
"Many of our customers don't have the time or expertise to take their business to the next level. They are asking for our help to transition to digital, develop new application offerings and analyze their print production costs," said Quincy Allen, president, Xerox Production Systems Group. "We're arming our customers with the best tools and services to leverage their technology, maximize their print environment and be more profitable."
New business development services
Whether they are new to digital printing or taking steps to expand their digital business, maximizing the full capabilities of their digital technology is a clear objective for print providers. Xerox's New Business of Printing([R]) - Business Development Services were built in response to customer requirements and will provide both training and professional services to help print providers generate increased page volume and revenue.
The three initial Digital Business Services offerings are developing a digital marketing plan, selling one-to-one marketing campaigns and Web-to-print jobs, and training and managing a digital sales force. The offerings are executed by a dedicated team of Xerox business development consultants and industry experts. Additional services will be available in the future.
"After spending time with the Xerox business development consultants, our sales team is much more informed and confident in the opportunities the Xerox iGen3([R]) Digital Production Press will create for our organization," said Laura Feldner, sales manager, Forum Communications Printing. "They helped us identify new revenue opportunities within our current customer database and used that information to create a roadmap of how specifically we should reach out and demonstrate the added value we can provide."
Investments made easy
The new Xerox ProfitQuick([R]) Investment Planner is the latest addition to Xerox's ProfitAccelerator[TM] Digital Business Resources collection and complements Xerox's existing financial modeling tools, which until now met a different set of customer needs by focusing strictly on the impact of hardware investments. This new tool gives Xerox experts the ability to analyze a print provider's entire workflow from job administration, prepress, printing and finishing through fulfillment and distribution, and then predict how digital equipment and an automated workflow - such as Web-to-print - impacts costs and time.
"As print providers begin the process of purchasing new equipment or software they often lack an essential piece of knowledge - an understanding of their total cost of operations, from processing, production and warehousing to pick-and-pack, shipping and billing," said Dan Adler, president, DA Digital, a consulting firm for the digital print industry. "The new ProfitQuick Investment Planner can be used to help assess a print provider's most common jobs from beginning to end, revealing total cost of operation and providing recommendations that arm them with the knowledge they need to make informed purchasing decisions."
ProfitQuick Investment Planner is the most advanced assessment tool available and was designed with customer input. It offers a complete, customized analysis of a print provider's costs, workflow and equipment in detailed reports, flowcharts and graphs. Print shops then use the information for side-by-side cost and profit comparisons for offset, digital, and integrated printing environments and workflows. This makes it easy to identify the best workflow and equipment options, distinguish the most valuable jobs and applications, forecast business growth and justify the cost of a complete print solution.
The assessment generated by the ProfitQuick Investment Planner will help commercial printers and in-plant operations better understand how to meet customer job requirements, increase their capacity to take on more jobs and reduce total costs.
With more than 60 items, the ProfitAccelerator Collection is the graphic communications industry's most extensive toolkit of business and market development resources. The additions will be showcased in Xerox's booth No. 1219 at Graph Expo, the printing industry's largest annual exhibition in North America, Sept. 9-12 in Chicago.
