Valley Presbyterian Hospital Appoints New Vice President/Chief Information Officer

VAN NUYS, Calif. -- Valley Presbyterian Hospital (VPH) today announced the appointment of Ray Moss as Vice President/Chief Information Officer, effective September 10.
Moss brings more than 20 years of technology experience to Valley Presbyterian Hospital. Currently, Moss serves as Client Executive for Perot Systems supporting Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he manages a staff of 95 and is responsible for Perot Systems' contracted Information Technology Services.
Moss also has held high-level technology management positions at Catholic Healthcare West, Perot Systems Corp., and Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
"This is a time of growth at Valley Pres and we need the kind of technological know-how that Ray has to share," said VPH President and Chief Executive Officer Albert L. Greene. "We are phasing in digital imaging and electronic medical records, while installing larger capacity servers. Ray has the global knowledge and practical experience to lead all of our current and future hi-tech advances. We're excited to have him join our executive team."
Moss began his career as a technical writer and has always had a flair for communicating complex issues in simple terms. He quickly learned and mastered hardware, operating systems, healthcare applications, and the management and development of technical teams to become a leader in Information Technology support and strategy for Healthcare.
Moss will lead a dedicated team of Information Technology professionals at Valley Presbyterian Hospital who have recently implemented MEDITECH applications and are adding a picture assisted computing system (PACS), among other advancements.
Moss holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Northridge in addition to certification and experience improving hospital business processes, service delivery, project management, and systems implementation resulting in the successful integration of people, process and technology.
