Tiscali International Network Selects Hibernia Atlantic to Increase Both Its Irish Sea and TransAtlantic Capacity
Business Wire, Sept 4, 2007
BOSTON & SUMMIT, N.J. -- Tiscali International Network (TINet) the world's only carrier dedicated exclusively to wholesale IP-MPLS announced that it has chosen Hibernia Atlantic to deliver multiple 10 Gbps wavelengths of capacity to and from Dublin, New York and other major metro areas on Hibernia's private network. Hibernia Atlantic operates the only undersea cable crossing directly from Ireland to Canada and the U.S., thereby avoiding single points of failures, landing points and backhaul routes, such as the U.K.'s Bude, Bristol and Whitesands areas.
This capacity increase means that TINet can offer its European and US customers greater capacity as well as greater access and resiliency. This announcement comes shortly after TINet announced that it was scaling up its investment across the Americas. As part of that investment, TINet announced it was upgrading its point of presence in Miami as well as increasing its investment in its Trans-Pacific capacity between the West Coast of the United States and Hong Kong, to support its North American customers' Asian-based traffic.
"The TINet backbone requires diversity and reliability for the traffic we carry around the world," Maurizio Binello, COO for TINet. "We're pleased with the security and flexibility that Hibernia Atlantic provides and we look forward to passing on this high quality of service to our customers."
"Hibernia Atlantic offers TINet a secure and reliable cable connection to Europe and the U.S., which is flexible enough to grow and support TINet and its customers' increasing bandwidth demands," says Eric Gutshall, EVP of Sales and Marketing for Hibernia Atlantic.
