Report Shows Growth Rate More Than Double Nearest Competitor
LEXINGTON, Mass. -- BladeLogic, Inc. (Nasdaq: BLOG), a leading provider of next-generation data center automation software, today announced that IDC Research has named BladeLogic the fastest growing data center automation vendor in 2006 based on revenue growth. In a report entitled "Worldwide Server Provisioning Software 2007-2011 Forecast and 2006 Vendor Shares", IDC ranked BladeLogic as the fastest growing vendor in the market with year-over-year revenue growth of 105.6% in the 2006 calendar year.
IDC defines the server provisioning software market as the deployment, configuration and management of server system and application software. Key market drivers include compliance reporting, change and configuration management, data center consolidation and the opportunity to lower IT costs through process standardization.
"Enterprise IT organizations continue to invest in automation technologies, such as those offered by provisioning solutions," states Stephen Elliot, research director of IDC's Enterprise Systems Management service. "These technologies offer compliance tracking and process automation and reduce the risk of human error that causes downtime. Business and technology managers must consider these technologies to drive greater, more profitable efficiencies."
"The latest research conducted by IDC clearly confirms that BladeLogic is the fastest growing vendor in the data center automation market," said Dev Ittycheria, president and CEO, BladeLogic. "Even though all of our growth was derived through organic means, the report shows that we grew faster than our nearest competitor by more than a factor of two. We attribute our success to the demonstrable value and competitive advantage of our next-generation product architecture as evidenced by our large and growing base of customers across nearly every vertical industry."
