Business Wire, Sept 4, 2007
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Tri-Valley Corporation (AMEX:TIV) announced that Michael Cain has been appointed General Manager of its subsidiary, Great Valley Production Services LLP. Cain will be responsible for managing the rig and steam generator fleet and all equipment and operations of the subsidiary.
He will steward the day to day steam generator and downhole tool inventory, logistics, refurbishment and quality assurance and quality control programs and work with personnel of other subsidiaries to meet various asset development needs.
Mr. Cain brings over 36 years of industry experience primarily focused on rig and downhole operations in both domestic and international venues including drilling contractors, major oil companies and the oilfield service sector. A great majority of Mr. Cain's experience was gained in his native California with Union Oil Company of California where he was employed for 26 years including various drilling and rig management positions. His strong technology skill base has particular emphasis on state of the art downhole tools, expandable tubular applications and extended reach and horizontal drilling.
"Mr. Cain has sound, proven field management and leadership skills which will highly benefit the organization as we build our fields infrastructure and organization to meet our growth mode needs. He has a strong track record of facilitating continuous performance improvement and leading positive change in various organizations," said Robert A. Bell, Senior Vice President of Great Valley Production Services LLP.
Great Valley Production Services LLP, a subsidiary of publicly traded Tri-Valley Corporation, was formed in mid 2006 to enable the Company to work at will on its growing number of producing oil and gas wells. To overcome the acute rig shortage and difficulty in getting contractor services on a timely basis, old rigs were acquired and re-manufactured to better than new status for workover and drilling. An increasing inventory of downhole tools and steam generators for enhanced oil recovery rounds out the capabilities of GVPS which also has its own crews to operate the equipment for itself and third parties. So far GVPS has worked over nearly 50 wells, initiated a water flood program and drilled five new wells on Tri-Valley projects.
