Business Wire, Sept 4, 2007
Boost Navigator Offers Unlimited Turn-By-Turn Audible GPS Walking and Driving Directions Directly from Boost Mobile Phones
IRVINE, Calif. -- Boost Mobile([R]) today announced the launch of an exclusive mobile GPS navigation service called Boost Navigator powered by Telmap. The service provides Boost Mobile customers audible turn-by-turn walking and driving directions directly from their Boost Mobile phone.
Customers will also have access to premium location-based features including places to "Hangout" such as movie theatres, clubs, malls, etc. or "Restaurants" by category to visit in their area, in addition to "My Favorites" where they can store frequented destinations.
Unlike other mobile GPS navigation systems available, Boost Navigator provides a budget-friendly Pay-As-You-Go pricing plan offering unlimited routes for $1.99 per day, $3.99 per week, $9.99 per month or $24.99 for three months. Customers can also enjoy free routes to Boost Mobile Re-Boost locations, in addition to a free first week of service.
"In a national study it was identified that when it comes to the features Americans would like to add to their cell phones, the desire for maps tops the charts*," said Craig Thole, director of value added services, Boost Mobile. "Boost Navigator not only provides the answer to 'Where you at' but also 'Where you're going.'"
Available now, Boost Mobile customers with a GPS and Java([R])-enabled iDEN handset can download Boost Navigator at www.boostlive.com or text NAV to BOOST (26678) (note: standard text messaging rates apply). The service can be used anywhere in Boost Mobile's national coverage area. Boost Navigator will also be available to Boost customers with GPS and Java([R])-enabled CDMA handsets in September and will be preloaded on all Boost Mobile handsets in October.
This winter, Boost Navigator will expand its service offering intelligent routing taking into account time of the day, traffic and weather, customized points of interest, route gifting to friends and family and a complimentary WEB planner.
