Sara Lee Corporation Names Shalabh Gupta Treasurer

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. -- Sara Lee Corporation (NYSE:SLE) announced today the appointment of Shalabh Gupta to the position of treasurer, effective immediately. He will continue to report to Theo de Kool, Sara Lee's chief financial and administrative officer.
"Shalabh has served as assistant treasurer for several years, and his expertise continues to be an asset to the organization. We are pleased that he will be assuming the role of treasurer," said de Kool.
Gupta, 46, joined Sara Lee in Oct. 2004 as director, capital markets and pensions. In Sept. 2005, he was promoted to assistant treasurer, directly responsible for all U.S.-based corporate treasury operations. Prior to Sara Lee, Gupta held positions at Delphi Corporation, where he served in a variety of treasury roles, and General Motors, in both treasury and business development functions.
Gupta earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Delhi College of Engineering in India, his master's in systems and industrial engineering from Oakland University, and his master's in business administration from the University of Michigan.
