UPS Companies Strive for Energy Efficiency

Frost & Sullivan to Host Quarterly Analyst Briefing on UPS and Energy Efficiency Protocol Analysis on Wednesday, September 12, 2007
LONDON -- The UPS industry manufactures products that emit harmful gases and consume a lot of energy for their operation as well. This has made imperative for UPS companies to research and develop energy efficient UPS systems so that they reduce energy consumption and are environment friendly.
Frost & Sullivan will host a telephone and web briefing on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at 2.00 p.m. BST to provide industry participants with an overview of UPS and Energy Efficiency.
"The carbon emissions in the environment are at an all time high and if not heeded to at this point can seriously cause a lot of harm in the near future. This is why there is a major need to start adopting energy efficient products that have low or reduced carbon emissions. The Kyoto protocol is also supposed to be implemented by 2012, therefore it is extremely important to understand and implement energy conservation programs," explains Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Pallavi Suresh. "There is a need to change the mind set of the end-users so that they take a holistic view regarding energy efficiency and not just view it from a cost saving aspect. The concept of energy efficiency is used in the UPS industry as well."
Energy efficient UPS systems are the latest offering from this industry.
The UPS system as an equipment during operation consumes a lot of energy in the form of electricity and in that process also emits a lot of heat. With energy costs rising rapidly and the problem of carbon emissions linked to global warming, the UPS companies have realised that the only way to combat this two fold problem would be by introducing the energy efficient UPS systems. The majority of the UPS companies are still in the process of improving the efficiency of their systems, while a few companies have already introduced their versions of energy efficient UPS.
This briefing will benefit original equipment manufacturers, distributors, resellers, subsidiaries, strategic partners and end-users by discussing the importance of manufacturing energy efficient UPS systems in Europe. This will help the original equipment manufacturers, distributors, resellers, subsidiaries and strategic partners to effectively build strategies to cash in on the growth which is taking place in this market.
