Validity Fingerprint Sensors to Be Included in DDS Biometric Security Products

Business Wire,  April 1, 2008

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Validity Sensors, Inc., a privately-held biometric sensor company specializing in convenient, secure and reliable fingerprint authentication solutions for information, communication and entertainment devices, announced that its fingerprint sensors are included in biometric verification solutions from Digital Development Systems (DDS), a leading biometrics technology company in Japan.

DDS incorporates Validity's durable LiveFlex[R] sensor into a compact and lightweight USB fingerprint reader. The swipe-based fingerprint reader replaces conventional password verification with fingerprint verification in traditional PC and enterprise server environments.

The fingerprint reader hardware is packaged as part of DDS' EVE Series (Enterprise Verification Environment) solution. The EVE Series solution consists of fingerprint reader hardware unit(s), local and server level fingerprint verification software, server level ID management software, and software licenses.

The solution features a unique hybrid fingerprint matching algorithm that is newly developed by DDS. The Hybrid Matcher combines DDS' original fingerprint matcher based on spectrum analysis and Validity's preferred fingerprint matcher, powered by Cogent Systems technology, with custom matching technology from DDS. The Hybrid Matcher creates an excellent

server-level matching solution for enterprise environments.

"We are very excited about DDS having selected Validity as a strategic partner for their biometrics security solutions," said Jalil Shaikh, Validity's CEO. "DDS has taken a leadership role in enterprise-level biometric security solutions, and we feel that jointly we can offer the most secure and convenient authentication solutions."

"Validity's fingerprint sensors combined with our custom enterprise solution provides the best solution in light of performance, convenient security, and durability," said Kenji Miyoshino, CEO at DDS.

The EVE MA fingerprint security solution is available today from DDS.
