REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- BroadVision, Inc., (OTCBB:BVSN), a global provider of strategic e-business solutions, today announced that Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC), a subsidiary of Indian Railways, recently recorded record-breaking ticketing transactions. IRCTC has relied on BroadVision's leading platform technology to power its mission-critical and revenue-generating website for more than five years.

IRCTC (www.irctc.co.in) initially deployed its online booking systems in 2002 and recently reached an all-time booking record. On March 11th, 2008, the total tickets booked reached 103,936, which grossed out more than 96 million Indian Rupees ($2.4 million USD). The average booking per day in March 2008 was over 78,000 tickets. Total tickets booked in the month were over 2.4 Million and valued over INR 2.3 Billion (57 million USD). BroadVision's highly-scalable and robust solution helped IRCTC to record peak booking of more than 9,000 tickets an hour - an average of 2.5 tickets per second! Mature automated self-service processes both at front-end and back-end operations have ensured that the site is able to meet customer service with a small team in a robust manner.

The BroadVision solution has become a new revenue stream for IRCTC since its implementation. As the IRCTC site has grown to meet business demands, the BroadVision agile business suite scaled to meet IRCTC's growing traffic. IRCTC leveraged BroadVision's capabilities to the fullest extent and added other tourism and reservation touch-points services to enable its customers to plan their trips and purchase the tickets online, which creates great customer satisfaction and loyalty.

The Internet ticketing system has been awarded numerous "Firsts" in the Indian e-Commerce space and has consistently won recognitions. The most recent one was winning the gold award in the "Outstanding Performance in Citizen-Centric Service Delivery" category at the 11th National Conference on e-Governance for National Awards for e-Governance. The awards were given by Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances and Department of Information Technology, Government of India.

"The success story of IRCTC is another great proof point of BroadVision's scalable and agile solution that can see any company through high-volume performance," commented Dr. Pehong Chen, President and CEO of BroadVision. "We applaud IRCTC in their continued successes and awards and are proud to be their platform choice for all these years."
