Frost & Sullivan Recognizes Cernium for Innovation in Video Surveillance
Business Wire, April 15, 2008
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Frost & Sullivan named Cernium Corporation the 2008 North American Emerging Company of the Year for its efforts in developing and promoting real-time, content analytics-enabled products for video surveillance. Cernium was identified following a comprehensive analysis of companies serving the video surveillance market,
"Cernium has captured significant brand awareness and market share in the fast growing market for video analytics," said Frost & Sullivan Security Analyst Dilip Sarangan. "It has garnered recognition from various competitors, partners and end-users as having the top-performing video analytics engine available, significantly increasing its revenues in the past three years."

The principal engine for growth has been its flagship Perceptrak([R]) video alert and incident management system, which has roughly tripled annual sales since 2005 and is now the company's leading product.
Cernium's first product, ExitSentry([R]) is the market leader in the aviation sector, with installations at nearly 40 airports. ExitSentry is experiencing sustained sales in both new and existing airports. A partnership with L-3 Communications was recently announced and is expected to open new channels for the product.
As an innovator, Cernium is a product-focused company that is always improving its existing technology while creating best-in-class products that uniquely serve market needs.
A major product highlight in 2007 was the introduction of the P-Core[TM] Analytics Engine and its increasing use in non-security applications. The P-Core engine is a set of algorithms that sit at the base of all Cernium products and make that analytics engine available for multiple platforms.
"The company's technology is a generational leap over competing approaches, providing outstanding incident detection performance and greater operational flexibility using a fraction of the computing power," notes Sarangan. "Though initially developed for the industrial market, Cernium is forging partnerships and strategic alliances outside the traditional security industry to develop new applications for video analytics."
"Cernium is honored to be recognized for truly commercializing this powerful technology. As a product company, we aim to bring innovative solutions for real world problems to the marketplace. This award confirms we are achieving that goal," said Craig Chambers, Cernium president and CEO.
Overall, Cernium has been instrumental in educating the market on the benefits of video analytics and helping end-users, integrators and hardware manufacturers understand the true capabilities of the technology.
In recognition of its efforts in technology development and broadening the applications for video analytics, Frost & Sullivan is proud to present Cernium Corporation with the Award for Video Surveillance Emerging Company of the Year.
