InRoomMD Travel Healthcare Concierge's[TM] Growing Global Adoption Underscores Importance of Worry-Free Medical Care Access for Business and Pleasure Travellers to the US
MIAMI -- Taking the worry out of healthcare access for insured members travelling to or based in the US, InRoomMD[TM] today announced that it is making its network of US-based medical providers and pharmacy providers accessible to Pacifico Seguros through an exclusive marketing agreement with Olympus Health Care Solutions, Inc.
InRoomMD is a Travel Healthcare Concierge Program offering travellers immediate access to quality acute medical care while visiting the most popular U.S. travel destinations.
Under the terms of the agreement, 300,000 Pacifico Seguros medical insurance policy holders will have access to the InRoomMD Travel Healthcare Concierge benefit. Pacifico expects that their members will save 65 percent to 75 percent on their medical expenses when travelling in the US - either to hotels or when visiting their relatives here.
Says Steven W. Jacobson, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Olympus Health Care Solutions, "This partnership demonstrates the global value InRoomMD provides to Olympus clients accessing health care in the U.S. This Olympus marketing agreement underscores Olympus' ongoing commitment to exceeding customer expectations by bringing tangible value to its clients through innovative products and services."
InRoomMD concierge-style healthcare services also include expedited access to emergency care, prescription replacements, durable medical supplies such as oxygen and wheelchairs, as well as specialist referrals, both direct to consumers by subscription and as a benefit to groups covered by traditional or international private medical insurance policies. In addition, its relationship with partner hospitals allows InRoomMD to help insured members with urgent healthcare needs to navigate healthcare systems in unfamiliar cities.
InRoomMD's Chief Executive Officer Andrew S. Jacobson says, "We are pleased to be able to offer Pacifico Seguros policyholders travelling to the United States access to the InRoomMD Travel Healthcare Concierge[TM] program. With the addition of Pacifico to our rapidly expanding global corps of companies with demonstrated concern for their employees and policy holders, InRoomMD is poised for unparalleled business growth for 2008."
Adds Jacobson, "InRoomMD continues to grow its customer base worldwide. Insurance companies around the globe are recognizing the peace of mind and cost effectiveness of providing their policyholders access to InRoomMD when travelling to the US."
The CDC estimates that 33 percent of all ER visits (by domestic residents and international travellers to the US) are semi-urgent or non-emergent, and could have been treated on an outpatient basis. The cost of a non-emergent US ER visit can run as high as $3,000 versus InRoomMD's cost of $200-$500.
Delivering consistently high-quality medical and healthcare services that exceed customer expectations since 2004, InRoomMD provides a robust network of American-trained and board certified physicians available 24/7 for in-room hotel "house calls" to diagnose and treat acute conditions.
InRoomMD's national network of American-trained, board certified internists and pediatric physicians, and other providers are fully credentialed based on the universal standards developed by the American Association of Preferred Provider Organizations (AAPPO). InRoomMD has active networks in Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, Naples, New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix/Scottsdale, San Diego, Toronto, and Washington, DC. InRoomMD is in the process of completing network expansion in South Florida, California, New York, Texas, Colorado and Canada.
