ACL Semiconductors Announces Year End Results
Business Wire, April 16, 2008
EBITDA improves by 15.5% Revenue increases 52.4%
HONG KONG -- ACL Semiconductors, Inc. (OTCBB:ACLO), announced its audited financial results for the year ending December 31, 2007.
The company reported sales for the year ending December 31, 2007 of $160,404,924 compared with $105,642,123 for the prior year ending December 31, 2006, an increase of 52.4% over the comparable period. The company reported $.0621 per share in EBITDA. EBITDA for the year was $1,758,525 versus $1,485,586 for the same period in 2006, an increase of 15.5%. Operating expenses for the year increased 5.4% from the previous period to $3,116,802. The company reported a decrease in net income for the 2007 calendar year to $331,092 compared with $555,404 for the prior 2006 calendar year.
In announcing the results, Chairman and CEO Alan Yang stated, "Despite a difficult period of decreasing unit prices and lower gross margins, given the greater than 50% increase in revenue for the year reflects that our market share in southern China is rapidly growing. Working side-by-side with Samsung, we are optimistic that revenue will continue to grow at a high double-digit pace. Further, for 2008, we anticipate strong demand for VGA RAM as required for PC's utilizing the Vista operating system. Moreover, we expect a shortage of high-capacity FLASH components as Apple will launch the new version of the "I-Phone" and "I-Pod" in the second half of 2008. We believe these two dynamics will have a positive impact on our component pricing, particularly in the second half of the year; and given our relatively stable operating expenses, combined with an environment where component prices are increasing means that we could have our most profitable year ever in 2008. Indeed, that is our goal."
