RISO's HC5500 to be part of Pitney Bowes' integrated printing and mailing solutions throughout Canada

DANVERS, Mass. -- RISO, Inc., Japan's leading manufacturer and distributor of digital Printer-Duplicator equipment and supplies, announced today that it has entered into a distribution agreement with Pitney Bowes Canada. The agreement authorizes Pitney Bowes to market and distribute the RISO HC5500 full color inkjet printer.

The HC5500 ComColor([TM]) printer is a great fit with Pitney Bowes' line up of printing and mailing solutions. Employing the latest in RISO's FORCEJET[TM] printing technology, the HC5500 is the world's fastest sheet-fed inkjet printer, running at an incredible 120 pages per minute (ppm), or 85 #10 envelopes per minute. It also does duplex printing in normal mode at up to 92 ppm. Cost of operation is low, and the HC5500 can be scaled to meet customer needs.

"We are pleased to be partnering with Pitney Bowes Canada to expand the market for RISO's innovative HC5500," said David Murphy, Vice President of Marketing for RISO, Inc. "With its high speed printing capabilities, sophisticated color printing platform, and versatility, the HC5500 is an ideal solution for organizations who want to add high-speed color printing and short-run transactional document printing to their businesses."

Pitney Bowes is the only company in the world that offers end-to-end mail and document solutions for businesses large and small. In addition to creating industry-leading digital mailing solutions, Pitney Bowes markets products that scan, print, email, copy, fax, fold, insert and seal. The company helps businesses integrate digital copiers and related technology into their office network to reduce hidden costs. Pitney Bowes is also a force in the area of software technology, with innovations that enable MapQuest to provide directions to customers online, and eBay[R] users to easily calculate and pay for postage, and access shipping services.

"The new agreement with RISO complements Pitney Bowes' line-up of mailstream solutions that help companies manage the production and flow of documents and mail to improve communications," said Darren Gornall, Vice President & General Manager, Messaging Technologies, Pitney Bowes. "The RISO HC5500 system is well known for its color technology and offers the perfect balance of speed, cost and quality.
