Sybase PowerBuilder Delivers AJAX and .NET Enhancements Enabling Rich Internet Application Development

(NYSE:SY), a leading provider of enterprise infrastructure and mobile software, today announced that AJAX development capabilities and further Microsoft([R]).NET enhancements have been added to the latest version of Sybase([R]) PowerBuilder([R])11, the premier 4GL rapid application development (RAD) tool. PowerBuilder 11.2 represents another milestone in the PowerBuilder roadmap for delivering .NET interoperability and incorporates new features such as AJAX functionality for WebForms, which enables richer, more interactive data-driven application development.

PowerBuilder has long been a gold-standard for 4GL Rapid Application Development (RAD) IDE for building two-tier, distributed Web applications and Smart Clients. With the inclusion of AJAX technologies, Sybase is enabling our customers to leverage the world of Rich Internet Applications (RIA) and Web 2.0 on the .NET platform for their existing PowerBuilder applications.

New features include:

PowerBuilder 11.2:

* AJAX capabilities that provide the ability to develop and deploy rich desktop-like applications (RIA) delivered over the Web, quickly and easily
