Keenan and SafeSchools Announce Program to Provide Online Safety Training to California Public Educational Agencies

Business Wire,  April 21, 2008

TORRANCE, Calif. -- Keenan & Associates, the largest privately held brokerage and consulting firm in California, and SafeSchools, the premier developer of online safety training for school systems, based in Cincinnati, OH, have announced that the firms have teamed up to provide an enhanced, value-added online training program specifically designed for California public educational agencies. Beginning this summer, Keenan will provide all of their property and casualty clients with access to these training tools through "Keenan SafeSchools".

"Keenan SafeSchools" is a web-based delivery system for a wide variety of safety and risk management training modules. "Keenan SafeSchools" also provides the technology platform to administer, assign courses to employees, track compliance progress, and document training completion.

"Keenan SafeSchools has been specifically tailored to address California public education needs, from the types of risk exposures they face to the details of Cal-OSHA and Education Code requirements," reports Kathy Espinoza, Director of Ergonomics at Keenan. "The program will allow schools to provide extensive training to hard to reach employee groups in a very cost-effective way. Because the courses are delivered through an internet application, there is minimal disruption to their operations and reduced travel requirements."

"We look forward to making our leading edge training programs more widely available to California schools through our association with Keenan, the premier California school brokerage," explained Brian Taylor, President and CEO of SafeSchools. "Our objectives to create safer, more compliant school environments align closely with Keenan's approach to risk management."

"Keenan SafeSchools" will be deployed beginning this summer to more than 500 K-12 districts throughout California. Keenan SafeColleges, which will be tailored to California community college districts, will be ready to roll out in the fall. For more information about "Keenan SafeSchools", please contact Kathy Espinoza at (951) 715- 0190, ext. 1194 or kespinoza@keenan.com, or Jim Nulsen at 513-366-4075 / jnulsen@safeschools.com.
