Global supplier of consumer and industrial tools cites increase in ability to service its customer base
SYDNEY, Australia -- RedPrairie Corporation, a leading consumer driven optimisation company, announced today that Stanley Tools Australia, a global supplier of consumer and industrial tools and a business unit of The Stanley Works, implemented RedPrairie's WMS in its Melbourne distribution facility in approximately three months. The 6000 square metre facility distributes across Australia and Asia to retail, corporate, wholesale, and trade customers.
"In order to continue our growth trajectory in Australia, it was vital that we have a best-of-breed WMS," said Matt Jenkin, Logistics Manager for The Stanley Works in Australia. "Being able to implement the RedPrairie WMS in a complex facility in record time allows our Australian business to execute the next phase of our planned distribution expansion into a more automated facility in Epping."
"The WMS system response time, especially from the radio frequency (RF) devices used by the facility has been excellent," noted Jenkin. Stanley Tools runs their Australia WMS from global servers located in the United States.
Jenkin continued, "As a global company, it's important that we partner with companies like RedPrairie that understand the specific challenges of running a global concern. Improved inventory accuracy, RF-based cycle counting, individual activity tracking, and tightly controlled system flow has allowed the facility to increase its ability to service its customer base more quickly."
"As they grow, we believe Stanley Tools will continue to realize benefits from the WMS," said Mark Skipper, Managing Director RedPrairie Asia Pacific. "Stanley Tools is a prime example of the value and success a global company can have implementing a best-of-breed solution like RedPrairie."
