Shaw Awarded Environmental Multiple Award Contract by the U.S. Navy

BATON ROUGE, La. -- The Shaw Group Inc. (NYSE: SGR) announced today that its Environmental & Infrastructure Group has been awarded an Environmental Multiple Award Contract (EMAC) by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest. Shaw is one of six contractors selected for the environmental remediation contract, which has a one-year term with four one-year options. If the options are exercised by the Navy, the total program for all contractors will approximate $100 million.

Under the EMAC, Shaw may be awarded task orders to provide environmental remediation services at designated Navy and Marine installations in Alaska, Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and at other U.S. Department of Defense locations nationwide. The value of Shaw's contract, which will be included in the company's third quarter fiscal 2008 backlog, is undisclosed.
