The PRSA Dallas Chapter Will Address "The 2008 Trust Barometer: Who Do You Trust?" with Guest Speaker, Edelman Executive, Teresa Henderson

Business Wire,  April 28, 2008

DALLAS -- The Dallas Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America will host its monthly luncheon, Thursday, May 8 at the Park City Club in Dallas. The guest speaker is Teresa Henderson, Executive Vice President/Regional General Manager of Edelman Southwest. The program will begin at noon with registration and networking beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Edelman has polled "opinion elites" for nine years to determine the most credible, trusted sources of information. While "A person like yourself" continued to be the most trusted source, trust in business has dramatically increased, especially compared to government. For the first time, the study included young "Opinion Elites" (age 25-34) who had an even greater trust in business.

Who do you trust? Attendees will be amazed. Industries such as Technology, Finance and Consumer Goods are among the most trusted sectors, as well as being of critical importance to the North Texas economy.

Who don't you trust? (At least as much as you might think)

* Bloggers - They might be often quoted, but they often aren't believed. Especially not when compared with business media.

* CEO's - Think twice before you use your CEO as the primary message carrier; their credibility may be questioned.

* Religion - A tarnished image for most denominations.
