American Equity to Host 2008 Investor Day

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa -- American Equity Investment Life Holding Company (NYSE: AEL) today announced that it will host an Investor Day on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in New York City. Lunch will begin at 12:00 p.m. (EDT) and management presentations will begin at 1:15 p.m. Management will provide information on AEL's strategy, investments and asset quality, sales outlook and financial performance. A question and answer session will follow management's presentations.
