Stanford Law School's Center for Internet & Society to Host FCC Hearing on Broadband Network Management Practices

STANFORD, Calif. -- The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will hold a public, en banc hearing hosted by Stanford Law School's Center for Internet & Society on broadband network management practices and Internet-related issues Thursday, April 17, 2008 starting at 12 noon (Pacific).

The Commission will hear testimony both from expert panelists, and members of the audience who will be permitted to speak directly to the commissioners during the public comment session.

"We're delighted the FCC is coming to Stanford to hold a hearing on this important topic, which will radically influence the future of the open Internet," said Lauren Gelman, executive director of the Center for Internet and Society. "We're particularly glad that the FCC is including an open comment session so users will have the opportunity to present their views directly before the Commission."

The hearing will be held on the Stanford campus at Dinkelspiel Auditorium, 471 Lagunita Drive, Stanford University, Stanford, CA 94305. Seating is first-come, first-served, and open to the public.
