Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation to Raffle Shelby Terlingua Racing Team Mustang
Business Wire, April 7, 2008
GARDENA, Calif. -- The Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation will raffle a spectacular 2008 Ford Mustang that was transformed into a Terlingua Racing Team edition Shelby and signed by automotive legends. Raffle proceeds will go into an endowment to perpetuate the Foundation's effort to help children worldwide battle life-threatening illnesses while promoting the importance of organ and tissue donation.
"The Win-a-Shelby raffle is very popular because it gives enthusiasts an opportunity to own a wonderful piece of history and also benefit children in need," said Carroll Shelby, Founder of the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation. "This year, we're going to raffle a Ford Shelby with the new Terlingua Racing Team package."
The Foundation will display the Shelby after the automotive legends sign the car and sell raffle tickets at various events. Tickets are also available at www.winashelby.org. Anyone who purchases the $100 package of 5 tickets will receive a Terlingua Racing Team sticker.
"Our Shelby car raffles are a key part of our ongoing effort to fund the fight against child illnesses," noted Jenni Shreeves, Director of the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation. "We chose to offer a one-of-a-kind Terlingua Racing Team Shelby because it represents the fun-loving, mischievous attitude that kids should be enjoying instead of facing health issues. This adult sized 'toy' is the perfect way to generate attention for the Foundation."
Offered exclusively through Shelby Automobiles, the Terlingua Racing Team post-title package for the V6 Ford Mustang includes significant handling and braking improvements including a deep draw hood, 20" wheels and styling changes including the Terlingua rabbit. The Shelby will include the optional supercharged 350 HP engine with an even more aggressive suspension and braking system. The package will be applied, with a Shelby serial number at an official mod shop.
Shelby Automobiles, Inc., (www.shelbyautos.com) manufactures and markets performance vehicles and related products. Shelby Automobiles is a division of Carroll Shelby International, Inc. (CSBI.PK).
