Results of the Study, conducted by the Bone and Joint Decade Task Force and titled "Dispelling Myths About Neck Pain," will be presented by Scott Haldeman, MD., clinical professor, department of neurology at the University of California, Irvine; and adjunct professor, department of epidemiology University of California, Los Angeles.

> The years 2000-2010 have been designated the Decade of the Bone and Joint by the United Nations and the World Health Organization. The Neck Pain Task Force is a related project that began in 2000 at the start of the decade. The findings of the Bone and Joint Decade Task Force (BJD) on Neck Pain and Its Associated Disorders were published in the journal Spine (1.18.08) and are already impacting the manner in which neck pain is perceived, addressed and studied around the world."The Foundation for Chiropractic Progress, a not-for-profit organization, is supporting this educational initiative," says Gerard W. The Bone and Joint Decade 2000-2010 Task Force on Neck Pain and Its Associated Disorders is comprised of a group of international clinician-scientists and methodologists to undertake a best evidence synthesis on neck pain and its associated disorders. The mandate of the Task Force is to make recommendations of clinical practice guidelines for the management of neck pain and its associated disorders.
