Transplace Successfully Completes SAS 70 Type II Audit

FRISCO, Texas -- Transplace, Inc., a leading provider of transportation management services and logistics technology, today announced the successful completion of a Statement on Auditing Standards (SAS) 70 Type II Report on internal controls over its third party/managed services logistics operations. The purpose of a SAS 70 report is to provide information to key customers about internal controls at Transplace, which may affect the financial reporting of customers using that service. The completion of the SAS 70 effort is a significant milestone for the organization.

The SAS 70 audit was conducted by Weaver & Tidwell, one of the largest certified public accounting firms in the nation. SAS 70 is an auditing standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The report represents that a service organization has been through an in-depth audit of their policies, procedures and controls. Additionally, a SAS 70 report can be used by customers and customers' external auditors to meet the requirements of section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
