NEC Electronics America Establishes New Organization Focused on Strengthening Semiconductor Account Development
Business Wire, April 8, 2008
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- NEC Electronics America, Inc. today announced the establishment of a new account development and applications organization composed of three groups: account development, field applications engineering (FAE) and corporate distribution sales. Headed by General Manager Bart Ladd, the new organization will focus on increasing new business for the company's broad base of microcontrollers (MCUs), power management devices (PMDs), gate arrays, system memory devices and application-specific standard products (ASSPs).
NEC Electronics America's FAE group, integral to new account development, has been consolidated under Mr. Ladd to offer targeted support to accounts of all sizes. Additionally, Mr. Ladd will add field sales resources in strategic locations throughout the Americas to provide expanded, hands-on sales support, particularly to smaller-size accounts.
NEC Electronics America Distributor Network
NEC Electronics America is engaged with a network of distributors such as Avnet Electronics, Future Electronics, Edge Electronics, Mouser Electronics and Symmetry Electronics that provide comprehensive sales services to NEC Electronics America customers.
Avnet Electronics additionally serves as an NEC Electronics America Certified Design House, offering customers the ability to source and obtain design support for NEC Electronics' industry-leading gate array products (see 03/28/07 announcement at http://www.am.necel.com/news/newsdetail.html?page=necelam_avnet_team).
"We believe that strengthening our distribution channel is crucial to winning new business," said Bart Ladd. "And by adding resources in field sales, we expect to have even greater ability to support accounts of all sizes."
Formerly general manager of NEC Electronics America's standard solutions strategic business unit with responsibility for the company's MCU, PMD and system memory product lines, and as a former semiconductor industry analyst with Dataquest (now Gartner, Inc.), Mr. Ladd brings a wealth of experience and a strong vision to the new organization.
