LUXUL WIRELESS DELIVERS SHOCK-WAV(TM) SIGNAL TRANSLATOR AND BOOSTER FOR SECURE WIRELESS TRANSMISSION OF MILITARY DATA
New COTS-Based Technology Expected to Achieve High Throughput for Distances up to 40 Miles
Luxul Wireless, a leading innovator of patented high-performance wireless signal technologies, announced the availability of the Shock-WAV[TM] Frequency Translating Amplifier (FTA) for use in secure Military, Department of Defense (DOD) and Homeland Security applications. The FTA converts signals generated by commercial off the shelf (COTS) 5.x Wireless LAN technologies to the secured 4.4 - 4.94 GHz Government band and transmits that signal over long distances. The bi-directional FTA enables any 802.11a wireless LAN radio to operate in the 4.4 - 4.94 GHz Government Band.
"Designed to leverage COTS components for secure military use, the Luxul Wireless FTA is ideal for the DOD and Homeland Security," said Tyler Crawford, President and CEO of Luxul Wireless. "This further solidifies Luxul as a leading innovator of wireless signal technologies with the cleanest, most efficient signal booster for wireless networks on the market."
Using Luxul's patented Shock-WAV[TM] Digital Signal Booster technology along with frequency conversion, an 802.11a wireless access point can be converted to the government band (4.4 - 4.94 GHz) and broadcast at up to 2 Watts average power (8 Watt Peak) while still maintaining 64QAM OFDM throughput. To meet the needs of varying user distance and throughput requirements, the FTA is available with a 500mW (2 Watt peak) output power option and a 2W (8 Watt peak) output power option. The 500mW version is capable of achieving throughput speeds in excess of 15 Mbps at distances over 20 miles, making the Luxul Wireless FTA capable of handling voice, video and data at long distances. The 2 Watt Shock-WAV FTA is currently being tested at distances of up to 40 miles.
Luxul Wireless will be showcasing the FTA technology at LandWarNet Aug. 19-21.
