EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Virtual Chapter of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) announced today that Lenny Santiago has resigned from his role as chapter president, effective immediately, due to extenuating professional circumstances. President-Elect Ann Storberg will assume the role of the chapter president. The process of identifying a new president-elect to assume Storberg's prior role is also underway.

Santiago commented, "Although it saddens me to leave the chapter, a change of course in my professional career has made this difficult decision necessary. However, without question I leave the chapter in extremely capable hands with Ann Storberg as its new president supported by a highly talented Board of Directors. Ann has demonstrated exceptional leadership since joining the Virtual Chapter's Board three years ago, serving as the Programs Committee Chair and Chapter Treasurer. I have greatly enjoyed my half decade of service to the Virtual Chapter and remain available to contribute to its future success when and where appropriate."
"We appreciate all the years of service Lenny has provided the NIRI Virtual Chapter, playing an important role in making it the success it is today," said Storberg. "While we're disappointed to see him leave, I am personally very excited to take on the challenge of chapter president and look forward to showcasing all the programs and professional development initiatives we have planned for the 2008-2009 year, including the expansion of the Virtual Ally program as well as the Virtual Chapter's Online Community. In doing so, we expect to further the growth of the chapter and provide our members with more resources to better their development than ever before."
