Bal Seal Shares Solutions With New "Engineering Talk" Podcast
Business Wire, August 22, 2008
FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. -- A new podcast produced by Bal Seal Engineering, Inc. is giving OEM engineers the inside track on solutions to sealing, connecting and energizing challenges.
"Engineering Talk," a free podcast program available for streaming or downloading at www.balseal.com, delivers information, insights and opinions from experts in a variety of industries, from medical and aerospace to automotive and energy. The program can also be accessed free of charge from the "Business" category of Apple iTunes' podcast library.
Running just over two minutes in length and packed with information, the Engineering Talk podcast puts Bal Seal engineers and market professionals behind the microphone, with the goal of sharing knowledge and inspiring "lightbulb moments" that lead to new solutions.
"We've been collaborating with engineers for more than 50 years," said Bill Nissim, Bal Seal's Director of Marketing and Business Development, "and as a result, we've cultivated a great deal of application problem-solving experience. The Engineering Talk podcast program allows us to share the benefits of that experience with a larger audience."
Nissim added that the immediacy and flexibility of the podcast "make it easy to quickly address emerging trends and relevant industry issues."
"More importantly," he continued, "the portable, highly accessible nature of the medium lets busy engineers listen when and where it's most convenient for them."
Recorded and released in August, the inaugural Engineering Talk podcast kicks off a three-part series entitled "Sealing In Harsh Environments." The first installment, "Sealing In High Pressure Applications," features Bal Seal Engineering's Global Analytical Market Manager, Alicia Hackley. It addresses design and performance considerations, and cites examples of solutions for sealing in equipment used for high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) and ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC).
Bal Seal Engineering plans to produce and post two new Engineering Talk podcast programs each quarter. Future series installments will address sealing in high temperature and corrosive environments, as well as new technologies and market trends.
