Green Tech Zone to Offer Free Training at 2008 Fall EHX
Business Wire, August 25, 2008
New Pavilion Featuring Innovative Energy Efficient Home Solutions
ARLINGTON, Va. -- Electronic House Expo (EHX) Fall 2008 announced today the emergence of its Green Tech Zone: a new product and industry educational pavilion that will debut at EHX Fall 2008, November 4-7 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California.
The Green Tech Zone will showcase commercially available and new to market products that monitor and control energy consumption in the home. The Z-Wave Alliance will sponsor the tech zone and demonstrate, for the first time, complete real world solutions for home energy conservation including smart metering, consumer notification and automated load shedding.
"The demonstrations we will be showing will be made with commercially available products - not just futuristic 'pilot program' products," said Mark Walters, chairman of the Z-Wave Alliance. "By using products that can be delivered today, Z-Wave Alliance members will demonstrate how to respond to new opportunities, which in turn moves the whole industry forward."
In addition, industry leaders will present a series of training sessions on emerging green technologies and changes to consumer behaviors.
"Energy costs are on the mind of all consumers and, therefore, are an important consideration for dealers and integrators of consumer electronics. Demand is growing for ways to reduce energy consumption and this is a compelling way to educate our core audience," says Jim Wagner, General Manager, EH Events. "Green technology is an important trend for our attendees. We're delighted to announce this partnership with the Z-Wave Alliance and appreciate the leadership position they are taking on this important issue."
"Home controls are the perfect tools to make dramatic improvements in home energy conservation," said Walters. "With local, remote and automated control of the homes' largest resource consuming and conserving devices, consumers can join hands with the utilities to realize overall reductions in energy use."
EHX will draw 7,000 attendees and 175 exhibiting companies for four days of education, training, and networking.
Registration for EHX is now open at www.ehxweb.com or by calling 800-315-1581.
