Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency Contracts With Tiburon for a $1.5 Million Computer Aided Dispatch System

PLEASANTON, Calif. -- Tiburon, Inc. announced today that it has signed a $1.5 million contract to provide a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and mobile data system for Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency in Oregon. Tiburon, headquartered in Pleasanton, CA, is an industry-leading provider of automated public safety and justice systems to meet the demanding and complex needs of law enforcement, fire, rescue, corrections, and justice agencies.

The Washington County Consolidated Communications Agency (WCCCA) contracted with Tiburon to extend the existing fault-tolerant CAD system installed by Tiburon for Clackamas County, Oregon creating a regional multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional dispatch system that serves both counties and multiple cities. This regional CAD system will allow the counties to share information and resources, and to provide backup capability in an emergency situation. Both Washington and Clackamas counties wanted completely redundant and fault-tolerant communications centers for their dispatch operations. In the event either of the communication centers becomes inoperable, this disaster-tolerant configuration will allow the CAD system at either site to operate as a redundant backup of the other.

With the mobile laptops installed in law, fire, and emergency medical vehicles, personnel can communicate between districts and across city and county jurisdictions. This enhanced level of communication allows the public safety agencies of both counties to more effectively serve their communities.
