Musicians Institute Offers Full Range of US Government and California State Financial Aid for Innovative Music Video, Film and TV Program
Business Wire, August 27, 2008
Program Overseen by Award-Winning Film and Video Director Alan Calzatti
LOS ANGELES -- Beginning with the Fall 2008 class, FilmIT, Musicians Institute's (MI) innovative Music Video, Film and Television program, is offering a full range of US Government and California State financial aid to qualified students.
FilmIT's 30-credit, two-quarter program applies MI's world-renowned hands-on training techniques to the production of professional-quality film and video. During the program, each student completes a music-driven short-form film, managing it from concept through production (on 35mm film, 16mm film or HD) to compositing, special effects and mastering, learning each task along the way under the direction of professional directors and editors. The FilmIT curriculum can also be joined with instrument studies in guitar, bass, keyboards, drums or voice to earn an Associate of Arts degree with a combined music/film emphasis.
FilmIT is overseen by award-winning film and video director Alan Calzatti, who recently earned international praise for his work as Director of Photography on Icelandic group Sigur Ros' visually stunning concert documentary Heima (ranked as the all time number-one documentary by industry website IMDB.com). The program has been reviewed and approved by the National Association of Schools of Music.
The next FilmIT program begins October 6 and is enrolling students now. Classes are small and space is limited; contact an MI Admissions representative today for details.
